I hope this thing is anonymous because I don't feel comfortable about "letting my left hand know what my right hand did" haha but it's okay. It's all for a greater good. First of all I just wanted to say that at first I had no idea what I would do with my twenty dollars. Actually that's a lie (sorry for lying). I had tons of ideas of what to do with God's twenty dollars that was now in my hands. The only problem was finding the RIGHT way to use it. I wasn't sure if I should pair up with my family, my leadership team, my small group, or just fly solo with the whole thing. I kept it in my wallet trusting that God would bring up the perfect oppurtunity for me to bless someone. And that is exactly what he did.
I was driving school on this beautiful tuesday morning, while rocking out to 101.9 Air 1. They were discussing the fact that yesterday was Make a Difference Monday. Upon hearing this, I yelled, "Crap! I can't believe I missed it!" (yes, I do talk to myself on the way to school...a lot). But then I decided, "Hey! Why does a radio station get to be the only one to make up cool days? I'll make up my own day today!" Thus, Take a Chance Tuesday was created. I was so proud of myself that I almost forgot to thank God for sparking that idea into my head. Let's rewind a few weeks shall we? Everyday I come to school early for zero hour (basically I have a class before school even starts, so I get there early) and everyday there is this girl sitting by herself at the same table with the same look of loneliness and boredum. For the past several weeks I've wanted to go up to her and talk to her but every morning I end up convincing myself that I'll do it tomorrow. It's a vicious cycle. (Back to this morning) so Take a Chance Tuesday was the perfect oppurtunity to step up to the God-given plate and take a swing. I went up to her and said good morning and asked her what her name was. I introduced myself and explained how I get here early for zero hour and she told me that she gets there at six every morning. So she was already there half an hour before me with nothing to do but sit there alone. I thought having class was bad, but at least it gave me something to do. Then after a little bit I told her that I wanted her to have the twenty dollars. "Are you serious?" she asked, "Why?" I told her that I couldn't really give her an answer beside the fact that, even though it might sound a little cliche, Jesus really does love her and I just felt drawn to give it to her and remind her of that. I was scared to find out how she was going to react. What if she thought that I just pitied her or something and then got offended? Once again, I learned not to worry so much and simply trust God with his plan for my life. It turns out that she didn't even know where her next meal was coming from. She told me, "Sweet! This is my lunch for the day. Thank you!" I told her she's welcome and just to simply remember that there's a God above that loves her and cares about her. I would havestuck around longer but my class was about to start so I had to go. I told her to have a good day and was on my way. I held in the volcano of excitement in my gut until I got around the corner to where she couldn't see me, then jump high in the air due to the pure pumped joy I felt in my heart to see how I made a difference to that girl. I now know her name, so every morning when I see her, no longer will I feel guilt about not talking to her, but from now on I can continue to let her know that she is loved and worthwhile. From then on my reveloutionary thought process began.
I told everyone in my zero hour class about Take a Chance Tuesday. Everyone (besides me) is always practically asleep in that class so they didn't really care. But I decided to keep spreading the word to my friends and classmates in other periods. Some people really liked the idea and asked me what the other days of the week were. So I began to think:
From this day on, no day shall be an ordinary day. Each day will have a specific purpose where you will search for an oppurtunity to complete this purpose. I'm doing my best to influence my friends and family to follow these steps so one by one, we'll change our schools/offices, then our communities, then only God knows what's next. They may sound corny but that's because they kind of are. But they are SO worth it. So try to do them. It actually helps make the ordinary work or school day more enjoyable because you feel like you have a mission to fulfill. Remember, these also help stretch your creative thoughts because I can't tell you what to do. You have to pray that God will reveal to you oppurtunities to further His kingdom and change the world.
Monday: Make a difference Monday. This one is pretty vague so you can do numerous things to make a difference whether it's making a difference in someone's life by talking to them or picking up garbage you see laying out. Subtle but powerful stuff.
Tuesday: Take a chance Tuesday. Kinda like the Abba song but not really at all. Maybe a little. I don't know. Even though the majority of these days require people to step outside of their comfort zone, this one focuses on it. Do your best to step outside your comfort zone and take a chance, preferably a positive chance :) like again talking to someone new is a great idea, or try out for a play or raise your hand in class. Remeber 2 Timothy 1:7 "God did not put in us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline." Fear is a disease from Satan. Fight it with your shield of faith. God will provide the strength, it's your job to provide your willing heart.
Wednesday: Wish someone happiness Wednesday. A.K.A. Appreciation day. Let the people in your life know you love them and that you're glad that they're there. Also take the time to wish them happiness ("Have a good day!" "Gee thanks!" "No problem!") That kinda stuff.
Thursday: Think positive Thursday. This does not simply include you thinking positively (but it is strongly suggested) but it is also your job to encourage others to think positively throughout the day.
Friday: Find a Friend Friday. This is one of the trickiest days but also the most rewarding. Find someone at school, work, or church that you don't know yet. Reach out to that person. You don't have to become their best friend. Simply be a caring person who actually wants to know their name and hear what they have to say.
Saturday: Serenade Someone with Song Saturday. This one is easy. You don't have to sing to them, it can be using instruments or even humming but make sure you give someone the gift of music. It is a wonderful gift that God has given to us. Use it to bless others!
Sunday: Celebrate life Sunday! Yay! Party! Whether it's a real party or a party in your soul. Just make sure that you are thankful that you and your friends and family are alive and get to do life together!
I'm spreading this idea to my school's student council (I'm class-president so I have some influence there), as well as with my leadership team at youth group. I believe that if people start to follow these days, it will slowly change their lives. So these have been my heroic acts. I hope you enjoyed them. And I love you all!

Thanks for sharing your great ideas & caring about others!
It was a long and busy week, so as I read this on a Saturday morning--I want you to know that I am blessed. Not only am I blessed, but I want to print your blog and read it to others. Only one problem--I don't think I'll be able to get through it without crying. The God given creativity and simplicity that you are fleshing out is incredible. Continue to share your heart outside of yourself. We need to know you and be inspired by you. You Rock (and it's all because of Jesus!)
